Maja- Yoga & walking holiday
Bosnia Herzegovina
august 2025
Join me for a week of Yoga, walking, history and culture in one of the last havens of unspoilt nature in Europe.
Our home for the week is timeless and multicultural Sarajevo rich in both recent and ancient history. An ancient stop on the Balkan Silk Road, Sarajevo is fascinating mix of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and Brutalist architecture illustrating the rich history of this city which despite the suffering of the 1990’s remains peaceful, fun and joyous.
From the artisan quarters to galleries and museums, street-food, fine restaurants and delicious wines, it’s steps and slopes with magnificent views, Sarajevo has much to marvel at.
You will discover a friendly, generous, polite and simple people. A culture respectful and accepting of the origins and beliefs of its diverse population offering an exceptional welcome.
The landscape varies from the traditional villages perched high on the Dinaric Alps to the luxurious forest of Skacavac and the dramatic lakes of Prokosko. A train ride through the winding Neretva Valley brings us to Mostar with its surprising and iconic bridge, paved streets and traditional artisans.
Our days will alternate with time for Yoga practice, moderate hiking, cultural visits and time to rest, stroll around town or shopping.
Bosnian cuisine is delicious slow food from the local pastures and we’ll be tasting everything from street food to the finest restaurants and wines in Sarajevo.
